about

NIGHTS with tenXdining is currently CLOSED!

We want to personally shout out a HUGE thank you for all your support during our degustation dinners, COVID-19 takeaway and NIGHTS with tenXdining adventures. Our dinners grew solely from word of mouth and we really can not thank you enough. Your support really means the world to us!

In light of the most recent events, we have decided to place NIGHTS with tenXdining on pause. With the prospect of COVID-19 again on the horizon it's impossible to grow any small business in the current climate. It hasn’t been an easy decision as we really put our hearts and souls into our dinners but we feel this is the best and safest option for our staff and our customers. So we are going to wait it out and plan to reopen come summer.

We will keep you updated via instagram and subscription email....

Until then stay safe and eat well!

Em and Yali.

Our story...

We are a husband & wife team. Chef Yali is from Tel Aviv, Israel and Emma is from Sydney, they met whilst working at Balaboosta an Israeli restaurant in Nolita, NYC. Since moving to Australia, Yali has worked in kitchens such as Ester and most recently Cho Cho San and Emma has worked FOH at Acme, Orana pop-up and Sean’s Panaroma. Their real passion, however, is hosting, cooking and creating a unique experience for their guests with the family love that Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine knows best.

tenXdining was born as a pop-up, contemporary Australian 10 course degustation influenced by traditional Mediterranean flavours, held twice monthly at Good One Cafe in Bondi. Offering seating for 10 guests (inspiring the restaurant name), seated around one dinner table, creating a space where couples and solo guests could be encouraged to meet new people and enjoy good food. The homely element is important as tenX was built on the idea of breaking bread around the table at Shabbat - a concept that Yali cherished and missed.

As a result of COVID-19 our pop-up degustation dinners were forced to shut, however with the support from the Good One Cafe owner, Scott Brown, tenX adapted to offering rustic, hearty Israeli dinners for takeaway and pickup from Good One Cafe.

Our takeaway dinners received such amazing support from the community that once the COVID-19 restrictions eased tenXdining opened its doors as a dine-in Mediterranean/Middle Eastern restaurant. Menu favourites included ‘Prawn Bourekas with Shellfish Beurre Blanc and Chives’, ‘Cauliflower drizzled in Tahini and Schug’ and ‘Persimmon Salad with Black Pepper, Coriander and Garlic.” Chef Yali bought his fish daily, whilst also foraging around the local area for sea urchins, sea spinach and pigface to name a few - just to add a touch of Australiania to the menu.
